Lots of rain from Ingrid has made me, the grass and my “children” happy.
Nowadays, my “children” are all of the plants the missus and I have planted and that are growing big very fast because of us watering a lot, and now because of rain from Ingrid.
With the months of 100-degree heat we’ve had everything has been suffering. We water the grass some every day, and almost all of the potted plants got their share of water. Now we’ve gotten a break with the weather.
The grass didn’t seem to care all that much about the heat, though, as it gets lots of water.
I mowed the grass about two weeks ago. It was nice and short, neatly cut and trimmed nicely along the curb.
Now, after more than an inch of rainfall, the grass looks raggedy and is quickly getting tall.
According to KTXLARED5, (at this link) Laredo has had 1.13 inches of rain for September as of Tuesday afternoon on the 18th.
As we get into fall the the temperatures cool there are spots we’ve saved in our yard for plants. Soon enough we’ll be going to the plant centers at Lowe’s and Home Depot and other places and get more “children” in time for winter.
