Why wait till "tomorrow" when you can get something online about an event you covered today?
Take a look at our fall photo show photos on hsj. I put them online after I returned home on Saturday night. Why wait until Monday?
That's key to being successful with online media: immediacy.
Immediacy is getting at least one of something on line as soon as you can after an event ends. Usually this could be a photo, as it doesn't take very long to choose one that communicates an event effectively and
to edit and post online. We'll also need some text in order to inform readers what is going on.
When you finish posting something, let me know it's there and it will go live.
Even if it's one photo that's there by itself, soon enough we can get more photos online, and the story, video (if we shot one) and the audio (if we did one).
All of us, especially the "veterans" (returning students) need to incorporate immediacy in our news coverage.
