The cold weather really hurt my plants. (They also belong to the missus!) I'm sad because we've put so much time and effort into them, and some may not make it through the cold.
Normally our winters are mild and without the very harsh temperatures like we experienced recently. It's rare when we get more than one or two nights where temperatures get down to 32. But this year we had four (I think) days of 20-something overnights, plus two more freezing overnights afterwards, so that really put a whammy on the plants.
Now they're sporting burned leaves and stems, slumping to the ground, appearing lifeless as the earth warms and we enter several days of very warm weather.
This week the missus and I will get out clippers out and start trimming all of the plants back and hope we see some life from them.
On the bright side, though, we'll get to plant some new ones and enjoy more "children."
